What does Recruitment mean to Alpha Sigma Alpha?

Recruitment is a time that we treasure as a chapter. It is the avenue for our chapter members to have an opportunity to come together to relive stories, and experiences, share, be together, and learn the values of our chapter and how special it is to be an Alpha Sig.

Recruitment means that we are preparing our hearts to welcome in a new group of women and create the same sisterhood and community that a long line of powerful women have created before us. This process means more life-giving experiences and a safe place for women who want to be a part of something bigger than themselves. We treasure our new members and love watching them grow into the future leaders of our chapter.

What is rush like?

Formal recruitment (fall) takes place over the course of 4 days, starting with an open house for a chance to meet the sisters and get to know the ins and outs of ASA. Later on you'll learn about our philanthropies and service initiatives, and finally recieve your official offer and join us at your new home! Girls doing formal recruitment rush all the sorority houses on campus, not just ASA.

Unlike formal recruitment, informal recruitment (held in spring) only requires potential new members to rush one house, in a much more casual setting. This is a chance for the sorority to really get to know you and determine if you'd be a good fit for the sisterhood!
